How It All Began...

June 2003

Kenneth J Nelan Vestments began in 2003 with a mission to craft Quality Vestments at Affordable Prices for clergy and churches. Specializing in creating new vestments, including chasubles, stoles, and custom bishop miters, each piece was meticulously designed and handcrafted to reflect the beauty and reverence of liturgical traditions. Our commitment to craftsmanship and accessibility ensured that every vestment was functional and inspiring, meeting the needs of clergy across a wide range of denominations.

Over time, we expanded our ministry to include repairing and restoring vestments. This service grew out of a desire to preserve the sacred heritage embodied in these garments. From rescuing pieces destined for destruction to restoring intricate embroidery, we gave new life to cherished vestments, ensuring they could continue to serve their sacred purpose.

In 2011, we returned to Wisconsin, continuing this creation, repair, and restoration ministry. For four more years, Kenneth J Nelan Vestments served as a trusted name in liturgical attire, supporting clergy with new designs and preserving treasured garments.

In 2015, with tears and a heavy heart, this chapter closed when Fr. Kenn transitioned into a new vocation as a licensed professional counselor. While the ministry has ended, its legacy remains in the hundreds of vestments crafted and restored with care, reverence, and a commitment to quality.

Carrying the Tradition Forward...

Though the formal ministry of Kenneth J Nelan Vestments ended in 2015, the work has not been forgotten. Fr. Kenn still creates new vestments in his spare time, channeling his passion for craftsmanship and reverence for liturgical tradition into unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. These creations continue to reflect the same dedication to quality and beauty that defined the original ministry.

In addition, a significant inventory of completed vestments and materials remains, many of which were never offered for sale. These items are now being carefully cataloged and made available through the Store at Sacred Wandering, offering clergy and churches the opportunity to acquire timeless vestments that embody the spirit of sacred craftsmanship.
